Northern Monk Refectory LDS is located in The Old Flax Store, our Grade II listed mill in Holbeck, Leeds – the spiritual heart of the industrial revolution. Northern Monk Refectory LDS is the original home of Northern Monk, located directly above our first brewing site.

Keg at NM Refectory, Leeds, 20/02/20. Clear light golden blonde with a decent white cap. Nose is pale malts, grass, grains, straw. Taste comprises crisp malts, cereals, lemon drizzle, grass. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent lager.

Keg, 4.3 % abv, at Northern Monk Refectory MCR. Shared with Finn and Holmen2. Patchy white head that laced well, cloudy golden body. Moderate smell of grassy hops with ripe fruits. Restrained taste of bready fruit. Ends mid-dry with a citric note. Fair enough. (Manchester 25.01.2020).

From tap at Norhtern Monk Refectory, Manchester, with Finn and Rune 25.01.20. Cloudy pale straw colour. Aroma and taste of pilsner malt, green bananas and sorrel.

Draught @ Refectory MCR, 🇬🇧 10 Tarrif Street, M1 2FF Manchester, Greater Manchester, England.

[ As Northern Monk / Refectory Archie ].
ABV: 4.7%. Clear medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, pale malt, fruity malt, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, pale malt, grain. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20190122]

Hazy, orange-amber colored, small white head. Aroma is tart fruity, some funky notes, bit floral, lemony. Taste is medium sweet malt, fruity, moderate tart, bit lemony, funky, bit floral, dry finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily.

Keg @ Northern Monk Refectory, Leeds. Pale amber with a thin head. It's grainy-hoppy with some bitterness but there is a gritty dry hoppiness to this ale that dominates.
