Near black with rich beige head. Dry nose with obvious flavour from the oat. Sweet and bitter finish. Very solid stout.

Reddish amber. Big perfumy hop aroma. Medium bodied. Intensly hoppy, citrusy aromatic finish.

Big stout flavour, very even handed though. Nutty notes, hint of fruit, and rich malt and roast.

Dark amber; earthy hop nose; all about the Goldings - highly original stuff here, if I had just walked out of the biosphere following a twenty-year stint. Every brewer in Ontario makes this beer.

A little buttery, but on the whole a nice brown ale. Plenty of nutty, toasty malt flavor balanced by firm English hop bitterness. Nice deep garnet color, yet little head.

Interesting full flavor - hard to classify among the German range of lagers. Probably an oscura or a dunkel. Very balanced, and nicely bitter for a lager. Light amber color.

I think this is one of the best American ESB's I've had. Appropriately, it had a full malty palate, with firm English hops giving it the right grassy, resiny flavor. Remember, an ESB should be brewed to a higher gravity and should end up with no shortage of malt flavor. I esp enjoyed their use of caramel malt.
