Aroma is roasted malts, smoked meat, sausage and soft liquorice. Taste is smoky and malty leading to a boozy finish. 11% feels unbalanced. Next one please!

AROMA: medium alcohol presence (slightly solventy, lacqer), medium-low malty notes (sweet-like, slight caramelly) with a slight stale note. medium-low metallic background. APPEARANCE: dark brown body and opaque. meidum-low brown headm creamy, with ok retention for style. leg formation. TASTE: initial medium alcohol with slight solventy notes. low yeasty presence. medium-high malt presence with a caramelly and slightly roasted character. medium bitterness but balanced. finishes almost dry and slightly bitter. MOUTHFEEL: full body and velvety smooth. medium-low carbonation. perceptible alcohol warmth. OVERALL: not a very good example...

Draft: Poured a yellow color pils with nice large pure white foamy head with good retention. Aroma of cereal notes with light lemon notes also perceptible. Taste is a mix of semi-dry cereal notes with light lemony notes. Body is about average for style. Good beer after a hot day spent walking around Porto.

Slow gusher that churned up a massive excess of yeasty gunk from the bottom of the bottle. Aroma does carry some of that yeast too. Flavour is great though with rich malts and a light milk chocolate background.

APPEARANCE: light-gold to gold color and clear. medium-low creamy white head with good retention. TASTE: medium-low grainy-sweet malt flavor with low cereal hull notes and faint sulphur. no esters. medium bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium-low carbonation. faint astringency. OVERALL: a good starting point for a nice munich helles. requires miner finetuning.

Tasted from the tap on the 16/12/2016 at Catraio, Porto. Hazy yellow colour with a huge white head. Aroma of wheat, malts and yeast. Taste is medium watery, light citric and malty. Medium watery aftertaste. Next one please!

APPEARANCE: dark ambar color and clear. medium head of beige color with medium-low retention and slight leg formation. TASTE: of malt similar to the aroma Maillard: bread crust, toasty). Slight toffee note. Medium-low bitterness with malt balance. Semi-dry finish and slight bitter. clean lager profile. PALATE: medium-high body and creamy. medium-low carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: a good doppelbock well within the style. needs some carb improvement.
