Barn Town was built on one word - Passion. Founder Pete Faber was born and raised right here in Des Moines. After college, he ventured into the hospitality business in Chicago. During his 16 years in Chicago, Pete's passion for craft beer and his state of Iowa grew more and more. After contemplating for several years, he decided to move back home to build something that "would make his home town proud of having." Thus spawned Barn Town Brewing.
Our mission is to provide a unique experience through homemade, full-flavored, artisanal ales and chef-inspired elevated American style pub fare. BTB is committed to the use of high quality ingredients, with the access to healthy foods from Iowa farms, and the transparency in ingredient sourcing and use. Barn Town’s value proposition relies on the freshness, quality, and origin of the food and drink.

A treat from Brad and Angela, thanks guys!
Hands down best gluten free I've ever had. Aromas are berries and somehow the combination of peanuts and sour end up being some barnyard. I was having a hard time imagining this beer as a sour but somehow it does work. I'm glad they kept the peanuts toned down because I think that helps it work. But it's pretty decent.

Draft at Filet, Ankeny, IA. Rather light citrus zest of sour on the nose. Hazy amber in a low light restaurant seeing, with a thin head. Taste is properly tart, blueberries keeping light on the palate. Gets a little more for after the first few sips, inducing me to slow down, which is alright for the fancy meal were about to have. Tangy blueberry stays in the finish.

The aromas are dry straw, dry grass and a little resin hops, maybe a touch of citrus. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, a little sweet up front with more bitter later. Good carbonation and body. Satisfying finish. Good drinking beer.

A gift from Brad and Angela, thanks guys! The aromas are lots of cocoa and dark malt with a little roast and a touch of molasses. Maybe there's some coconut in there. Flavors are similar to nose, definitely sweet but not brain deadening. Bourbon and coconut are very subtle. Okay carbonation and good body. Nice beer.

Thanks for the treat Brad and Angela! Totally opaque black with very short lived head. The aromas are cocoa, dark malt, vanilla, molasses and roast. Flavors are very much like nose, moderately sweet with decent carbonation and full rich body. Some coffee at the end. Big beer.

20.1k! Pint can from a Festival Foods somewhere in Wisconsin, 9/14/22. Murky orange, medium tan head, good retention. Aroma of mango, pineapple, pale malt. Taste is grapefruit, pale malt, mild toast. Looking for tropical fruit which is in every fucking hazy IPA, but I just can’t find it. Low bitterness. Nice.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2022. Pours a cloudy peachy red with a white head that dissipates quickly and completely. Aroma has a touch of mango and strawberry with some creamy sweet grain backing. Flavor has candied tropical fruits and sweet strawberry with a finish of sweet grains.
