Description
A staple of the downtown community, Springfield Brewing Company has been in the business of brewing one of a kind, supremely drinkable beers since 1997. Our story really started when the Paul Mueller Company purchased the building, creating a beautiful showcase for their one of a kind stainless steel brewery tanks and changing the landscape of downtown. Their goal was to provide our community with a one of a kind brewpub experience combining local craft beer with great food.

A group of close friends and beer lovers got together and purchased the Brew Co. in 2011 it was their mission to continue creating award winning craft brews and working to perfect the menu. Our restaurant takes pride in operating as a scratch kitchen, bringing together fresh and often locally sourced ingredients to create one of a kind dishes.

Our brewery focuses on creative and tradition English, German and American style ales and lagers. Over the years we’ve been the proud recipients of Great American Beer Festival awards for many of our beers. Our aim is to continue working toward a harmonious balance between food and beer and we think we’re doing a darn good job! So stop in, grab something to eat and try one of our beers fresh on tap!

Can shared by Matt and Jon. Lightly hazy, honey brown, nice sparkle, thin head with fair retention and light lacing. Aroma is pale/caramel malts, bittering hops. Taste as aroma. Smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste.

Can shared by Matt and Jon. Opaque black, trace sparkle, thin head with good retention, trace lacing. Aroma is mostly bitter coffee, dark chocolate. Taste is strong, bittersweet cafe-au-lait. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Started out kind of boring but grew on me.

Pour is a dark amber with a large white head. Aroma is brown sugar, dark fruit and treacle. Flavor is more brown sugar with molasses. A bit too sweet but the flavors were all going in the right direction. One of the better beers I've had from SBC.

Pours a lightly hazy, amber-gold, with smallish head. Aroma is citrus and pine. Flavor follows. Nice level of hop bitterness in the finish. Fairly clean and crisp mouthfeel.

Pour is a crystal clear gold with an average white head. Aroma is sweet grain and corn adjuncts. Flavor is again sweet grain and finishes pretty watery. This is about the most macro lager I've ever had from a micro brewer.

Clear straw body, thin off-white head. Cerealy, nutty, toasty, piny nose and body, a solid old-school Midwestern IPA. Nothing spectacular here but it hits the right notes.

Pour is a murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma is equal parts cherry and bourbon barrel. Flavor is about the same. Lots of cherry juice but there is a bourbon note with a lot of vanilla showing up. A very tasty sipping beer.
