Tap at the brewery - thick black pour - moderate off-white lace - nose is molasses, chocolate, and deel roasty - full, creamy mouthfeel - fairly sweet, but the.most prominent character is a strong roast/char and a prickly acidity,so it tastes a lot more dry than it actually is - flavors of roast, quite a bit of smoke/peat, espresso - fairly bitter and acidic finish - kind of a one-dimensional imperial stout, but some good stuff happening.

Tap at the brewery - jet black pour - moderate tan lace - a lot of suds clinging to the glass - nose is intense, dark roast, whole bean coffee character, with no apparent excessive bitterness or acidity, which can so often happen with coffee beer - there is also a nice black and roasted malt note and light vanilla sweetness to balance - moderate carbonation, full body - quite dry and intensely roasty, almost smoky at times - much like the aroma, coffee is intense but balanced, with only a touch more acidity than I would like - finish is all espresso and a light woodiness - very tasty.

Tap at Wit’s End - black IPA my ass - more like a dry, moderately hoppy porter - some hints of roast and acidity - light fruitiness, most likely from the hops - finish of light roast - decent.
