On Saturday 21st May 2016 I visited Pizza Portโs San Clemente brewpub and had two flights of four beers, this was on the second one. Pale, hoppy but bland overall compared to the other beers I had on the flights. Just not enough of anything within the brew, I can do subtle but this was weak in my opinion (first beer from Pizza Port I have not enjoyed).

On Saturday 21st May 2016 I visited Pizza Portโs San Clemente brewpub and had two flights of four beers, this was on the second one. Pale gold with a fading white head. Standard Pilsner/Lager really although this one had a little bit of an aroma, some floral notes within itโs nose. Not a lot going on taste wise, mild fruity traces with a weak malt base. Inoffensive and refreshing is the best I can say about it.

Pour is a hazy straw color with a large white head. Aroma is a really nice mix of fresh oranges and over ripe honeydew melon. Flavor is equally nice fresh fruity hop. Plenty of grapefruit and some sticky resin. Super bitter finish after the swallow. This is my type of IPA. Low malt profile with a big hop fruitiness.

Can at home split with Sarah, brought back from the states. Pours a bright translucent yellow / straw coloured pour with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma is nice mix of pithy citrus, singed pine needles, tarmac. Some raw bready grainy oats on the nose. Nice. Flavour is composed a solid base malt, hints of wheat and oats. with a grassy citrus and piney hop mix. Assertive clean hop bitterness. Palate is nicely rounded, medium bodied, slightly grainy frothy carbonation. Goes down very easily and packs very good flavour for the small package.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours a clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very citrusy with lemon, lime and orange. The flavor is light bodied and hop spicy with a little lemon, lime and a hint of orange. Lightly spicy bitterness. Malts are light and crackery. Good one.

Tap at Harryโs Hofbrau in San Jose. Gorgeous aromas of tropical fruit and moderate citrus, with a piney backbone. Hazy yellow with a full and retained white head. Taste is juicy fruit (tropical). Fruit lingers long with a nice dryness. Perhaps the best IPA I have had from this shop.

Slightly unclear medium amber colour, small foamy off-white head, diminishing quickly, minimal lacing. Dusty malt aroma, toasted, caramel, brown bread, light citrus notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, toffee, in the middle part some light sourish red berry impressions, also metallic touch. All this leads to sweetbitter finish including a mix of nutty, dusty and earthy notes, medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation. Confusing and not very satisfying amber ale.
