Whether it’s changing careers, naming our brewery after a seemingly incongruous approach to beer, or donating 100% of every Temperance Trikonasana yoga class to a different local nonprofit each month, we like doing things differently.

Draft at Orange & Btw. More of a Porter brown than a stout. Cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon take awhile to get into the nose. First sip immediately offers a thick mouthfeel worth chocolate and cinnamon, then vanilla, and, ah, there it is, some ancho chile. A great Mexican cocoa bomb.

Single can from Binny's, no date. Seems that being in the Western suburbs, we don't quite get everything from the Northern parts of town. But this one rolled my way, so let's pop it. Pours a crystal, then slightly amber body, with just a bit of haze. The nose has plenty of sharp, fresh and grassy hops. Hops pop out on the first sip, again sharply bitter, with some grass to it, and then a note of citrus. Kids of rides the edge between an English IPA and an APA, but I'm dropping this on the English side.

Pours a surprisingly reddish dark brown from a can, head dissipates quickly. Big bourbon/vanilla/chocolate notes in the nose, similar in the mouth with a high alcohol palate, very sweet. Pretty good beer.
