22 ounce bottle into snifter; 2017 vintage, best before 10/3/2027. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, bourbon barrels, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, pepper, roast, charred bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, bourbon barrels, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome roast/hop bitter/sweet, and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 12.1%, with zero lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic barrel aged imperial stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, bourbon barrels, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mellowly bitter/tannic/drying finish; great soft feel. Fantastic balance between rich malts and bourbon barrel presence/integration; with solid earthy hops, and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and extremely impressive style example. Aged really well.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Way over carbonated, took a while to pour; but not infected. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big jalapeno peppers, skin/seeds, lemon, peach, pear, red apple, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of jalapeno peppers, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big jalapeno peppers, skin/seeds, lemon, peach, pear, red apple, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; and jalapeno pepper spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of jalapeno peppers, skin/seeds, lemon, peach, pear, red apple, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome robustness and balance of jalapeno peppers, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance; and no astringent hop/pepper flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness and carbonation. High carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Minimal lingering pepper heat though the glass. Overall this is an awesome pepper flavored American blonde ale. All around great robustness and balance of jalapeno peppers, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Over carbonation was not detrimental to drink-ability at all. Awesome balance of vibrant jalapeno peppers, pale/wheat malts, earthy hops, and restrained fruity yeast. Zero residual sweetness with crisp carbonated dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. Not overwhelming on peppers. Would love to try again fresh. They can this now, so probably a few years old on the bottle.

On tap at One Well. Pours amber, lightly hazed, with a white head. Aroma is strong peanut. Flavor, again, strong, smooth roasted peanuts. Very enjoyable. Also took home some cans, but unfortunately they were not quite as exciting. Less full palate. Rating is for what I had on tap.
