At the brewery. Honeyish colour. Buttery/stewed nose, same palate, not happening. Thatβs just a stack of diacetyl and nobody wants to drink that.

Amber, maybe a bit of haze, some minty hop and honeyish malts. Ok, low bitter but the sweet malts are nice.

Very dark brown. Light roast, touch of chocolate. Soft, chocolatey, porterish body. I like the finishing dark sugar note but wouldnβt mind a bit if roast to go with that. Reminds me of a South American schwarzbier itβs so sweet.

Hazy, light amber. Aroma of orange and grapefruit. Some sulphur, stewed fruit hops, not characters I look for.

On tap at Stormbreaker, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is quite messy, with lots of esters from the Belgian yeast and light citrus hops. Flavour is similar, with tons of esters, citrus hops and some phenols. Clashing flavours abound. This didn't work.

On tap at Stormbreaker, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is laced with tons of butter, nothing else apparent. Flavour is likewise infected - nothing but diacetyl here. Total trainwreck; this should not be sold.

On tap at Stormbreaker, pours a cloudy murky pinkish amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of pithy berries, a little earth and light lacto. Flavour is quite pithy, with lots of pithy berries, and a touch of lacto. Cloudy and messy. Not overly pleasant.

On tap at Stormbreaker, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of citrus hops, clove and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with aggressive citrus hoppy bitterness and wheat. Bitter and jagged - the hybrid isn't too convincing.

On tap at Stormbreaker, pours a clear golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is a mess, with lots of nutmeg upfront, drowning everything else out. Flavour is a total chaotic mess, with all sorts of messy elements that don't come together: nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla upfront, with a bit of superficial oak from the oak chips (seriously, why use oak chips?). A bad idea executed about as badly.

On tap at Stormbreaker, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted coffee notes, not much else. Flavour is similar, with medium roasted coffee, not much else. Not sure why you do a schwarzbier if you're planning to cover it all up with coffee. Okay.
