About
At Luppolo our beer is equally as important as the atmosphere we create in our lounge. Enjoy our selection of craft beers and delicious food in a warm and welcoming environment, your home away from home located in the “Yeast Van” Brewery District in Vancouver, BC.

Luppolo (pronounced loop-o-lo) means hops in Italian. We chose an Italian name due to the Italian heritage of two of our owners and because the values associated with Italian culture–quality, craftsmanship, community and family–are central to our vision.

Poured from the tap @ Luppolo. Clear-ish medium chestnut brown with full off white head. Toasted dry bread crusts, feint hops and caramel malt. Very well balanced.

Poured from the tap @ Luppolo. Lightly hazed blonde gold with large white head. Dry and crisp, tons of bitter saaz. Perhaps too much hops, but enjoyable.

On tap at Luppolo, pours a hazy dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma smells right on point, with dry bready malt and a bit of toasted caramel. Flavour follows accordingly, with big dry bready malt, a touch of toasted caramel, and a hint of woodiness. It's like drinking an alt in Dusseldorf. Nailed this.

Dec 30, 2024: Poured from 473mL can. Lightly hazed blonde with small white head. Same taste description. Meh. Oct 14, 2024 (7/4/6/3/13=3.3): Poured from the tap @ Luppolo. Clear blonde gold with small white head. Briny smoke with mild citrusy wheat underlay. A bit weak, especially in the finish. Okay.

Poured from the tap @ Luppolo. Clear-ish gold with full white head. Herbal, grassy hops. Clean and simple, a bit forgettable, but interesting to use noble hops.

6oz pour at brewery. Pours murky amber with off-white head. Aroma has dry caramel and bready malts. Flavour has nice toasty malt profile, dry caramel, and dry finish. I don't have a solid point of reference for the style, but this is very enjoyable.

6oz pour at brewery. Pours clear blonde with foamy white head. Aroma has gentle smoke, straw, biscuit malts. Flavour has a fairly tart smoke component, straw, and crisp cracker malts. This doesn't seem as clean as others I've had of this style, but my experience is limited. Still quite enjoyable though, with a nice smoky aroma.

Amber-brown, thin head, slight haze. Aroma is mostly caramel, with a bit of malt complexity. It’s toasty, good malt complexity, touch yeasty in the finish, good body, woody hops, definitely aiming for the upper end of the style.

Pale with slight. Aroma is of course smokey. Light body, big oak-smoke, light tartness, vaguely yeasty. There’s some bitterness here, some wheatiness too. A lot going on but it’s not all that cohesive. Still, it’s a grodziskie, I’m down.
