Very bright red... the beet juice makes it look more like Kool Aid than pale ale. Thin head. Aroma is a bit fruity. The beet juice, salt and all, is prominent on the palate. Moderate bitterness. Light hop character and some clean pale malts. Definitely more of a beet beer than anything else, especially as the hops aren't that bright.

Opaque, kind of peachy appearance with a very thin head. Lots of guava on the nose, bit of pia. Fresh and juicy. Soft, creamy...lactose? Well, toasted coconut anyway...with moderate citrusy bitterness and more of those tropical fruits. The elements are in balance. Overall, it's nice to drink. Part of me thinks the sweetness buggers up what should be a bright fruity IPA but then I wonder if the added tropical fruits don't need extra sweetness to present properly. All told, not bad, out of the gate to make such a whacky beer work.

Opaque peachy-tan sort of colour with a thin head. Soft peaches and oranges on the nose. Soft body, fairly yeasty. Mellow bitterness, but hop flavours are sort of a muddled pine sort of thin. My sense is that this beer needs to be bright - I just don't think this particular hop regimen suits the cloudy style. Malts leave a little something to be desired; a touch more residual sweetness or bread would bring it more in line with the better examples of the style.

Quite pale with a whitish-yellow hue. Medium head. Light melon on the nose but actually not super bright. Fairly bitter - the melon hop is a bit catty in its bitterness. The yeastiness of the beer makes for a funny balance as I'm much more used to this hop in a pilsner-type beer. Finishes off-dry and a bit yeasty. Hll cantaloupey note in the finish. If you stop to think about this beer, it's actually kind of odd.

Hazy light amber. Just a thin head. Kind of an earthy, toasty aroma. Really sweet. Looks and tastes like fermentation problems. Bubblegummy. This just didn't hit for me at all.
