Description
David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.
Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies, and "Epic" adventure junkies, share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

2019 22oz bottle drunk 6/28/24. Clear dark. large, well-retained light tan head. Nose has lovely brandy-vanilla with not do lovely green bell pepper from the coffee. Malty, with chewy cacao and low alcohol. Beany coffee and chewy cacao. Unfortunately a spiciness that doesn't belong in the flavor, with overattenuation, thinning and light alcohol. Vanilla is gone, coffee has gone bad, and there's not much brandy, though there is a nice barreled mellowness to the malt. Not really boozey, but a bit bready, lightly oxidized, still quite chocolatey. Tempered rating as this obviously wasn't intended to age this long.

Can pour at Mountain Brewers Beer Fest. Hazy golden pour, small frothy ewhite head. Blood orange hits instantly in the aroma, fruity, bready. Wheat beer base carries the signature blood orange notes, citrusy, mild bitterness, juicy. Nice summer ale.

On tap at Mountains Brewers Fest. Near black pour, thin beige creamy head. Aroma is blueberry, fruity, chocolate. Taste completes the pie with graham cracker, notes of vanilla and cinnamon, layered on the solid chocolaty roasty base beer.

Can pour at Mountain Brewers Fest.Golden pour, small creamy white head. Aroma is almonds, cinnamon and vanilla. Taste is sweet, the cinnamon adds a little savory spice, the vanilla pulling it all together. The Cream ale base was a perfect fit. My favorite of the festival.

Black pour. Coffee flavor with molasses or syrup notes. Mainly berry flavor on the palate. It's like having chocolate flavored berries. Very good stout.

Bomber 2021 release #3: Strong pronounced molasses nose, blueberry on the edges. Black, medium beige head. Molasses, raisin, charred oak, coffee. Full body, easy carbonation, warm. I'm not a fan of fruited stouts at all, but this was fantastic. The berry notes were subtle and supportive of the rich base beer. I was expecting to not like this, but it's great. I think a little age did this beer a good turn.
