Description
David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.
Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies, and "Epic" adventure junkies, share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

35,5 cl can @ Riga. Barch #21074, BBE 01.03.2025 No coffee info in bottom of the can so I suppose it is this one. Aroma has old-ish coffee and licorice. Flavour has coffee, some mild vegetable notes, ash, tobacco and hints of chocolate. Easy-going, perhaps even a light for this ABV. Good stuff anyway.

Draught @ Alus Celle Aroma has sweet malt and tobacco. Flavour has green apples, some sweet malt, cocoa. Perhaps a bit unclean tap? I might have been the first to drink from it today.

16oz can at Epic tasting room. Clear golden pour , dissipating head. Grainy, biscuity aroma. Taste follows with some meaty, bready flavors, crackers, French bread. Really nice feel and the strength is really nice.

Can. A- Dark chocolate, whisky, deep. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Dark chocolate fudge, bourbon, mild wood. P- Full body, slightly thick texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Really well balanced. A fair bit of barrel influence but not other worldly complex. Pretty straightforward.

From a pint can at the Marriott University. Pours a clear brown with an off white head. Aromas of toffee with a bit of caramel. Flavors are moderately bitter. It’s not a DIPA, but an okay beer.

4oz pour at Chuck's Greenwood. Pours black with moderate tan head. Aroma has dark chocolate and peanut butter, a touch of coffee. Flavour has rich dark chocolate and artificial peanut butter. Mouthfeel is quite smooth. Very decadent, loaded with tons dark chocolate so it's not dominated by the peanut butter. If only more peanut butter stouts were done this way.

473mL can. Pours jet black with a fast-fading tan head. Aroma has lots of whiskey barrels, burnt brown sugar, dark chocolate, and roasty malts. Flavour has burnt caramel, charred wood, whiskey, dark chocolate, some roast. Good amount of booze and the underlying stout is very rich; excellent.
