Description
David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.
Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies, and "Epic" adventure junkies, share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

So smooth. What balance and subtlety in the cocoa. Wow.

I'm just excited about the collab. It's like a nutty Guinness.

Can. Pours a almost jet black hue with a medium brown head. A big nose, artificial cherry and roast. The flavor is dominated by a really terrible fake cherry, honestly what were they thinking? Love my Epic crew, but this is borderline absurd. Sweet fake cherries almost dominate everything beyond belief. Total obliteration. Almost undrinkable.

Optisch dunkles Eigelb im Glas, derbe Perlung, damit auch schöner Schaum. In der Nase Pinien. Im Trunk ebenso, waldig wie die Rockies, cremig wie Estes Park. Ach Colorado, wer will da nicht gleich hinflüchten?

355ml can. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a small, foamy, short lived, white head that laces nicely. Mild aroma of bready pale malt, lemon zest and herbal hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready pale malt, orange peel, pineapple and piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with an oily to watery texture and average to soft carbonation. More of an APA. Just ok.

1 pint can. Whiskey barrel. Pours a dark brown with short bubbly head. Aromas of weak black coffee, soft whiskey and roasted malts. Flavors of oaky whiskey, cocoa nibs, and roasted malts. Warm finish. Good, but maybe a tad over-rated. Were there different barrels previously?
