About
David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.
Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies, and "Epic" adventure junkies, share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

Can 355ml (Beer Hunters). Dark golden colour and small white head. Piney-resiny aroma. Light-bodied. Piney, bitter, resiny, some caramalt background. Ok.

473mL can. Pours black with minimal head. Aroma prominently coconut with some notes of coffee and chocolate. Flavour coconut and coffee. Very noticeable liquor character; rum hits a bit too strong on the back of the palate. A bit out of balance; not great.

Dark brown. On the nose, okay so lots of rum, and barrel, and seems like fruity barrel. On the palate, it's thin, with rum. So a bit of flan sort of character, with a finish along the lines of Malibu. That's not a good thing.

16 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small beige head. Aroma is loaded with cinnamon and rum barrels -- this is rather perfumey and floral, but not terrible. Flavour is very light-bodied, with lots of cinnamon spice, some rum, floral notes, and just a strange body that's light, lifeless, and thin. Very puzzling. Not terrible, but this really isn't good.

Pint can pours with a deep dark colored body that supports a firm tan head of foam. The aroma offers up chocolate, fudge and molasses as well as smooth hits of boozy spirit barrel flowing into a sense of coconut. The taste delivers smooth bold notes of chocolate malts, dark roasted malts and growing sweet boozy bourbon. Another sip reveals a layer of molasses drizzled fudge and boozy chocolate cake. Nice. It ends with a firm warming unmistakable bourbon booziness that helps balance out the sweeter desert notes going on here. Solid sipper.

Bottle thanks to Brandon. Pours black with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is bourbon, tobacco, wood, licorice. Slick body, tobacco, wood, vanilla, boozy, very nice.
