Description
David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.
Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies, and "Epic" adventure junkies, share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

Bottle @ Odense Tasting, May 2011. Thanks to Hallinghansen. Pours cloudy orange with a lasting white head. Pine cones, grapefruit and orange. Very hoppy - not extreme and a tad of sweetness. No cloying malty caramel sweetness makes this a winner. Lovely . .

2400th rating. Bottle shared with jcwattsrugger. Pours gold. Fizzy white head. Nose is initially nothing. After some swirling, dry wood pops up, followed by yeast and peach pits. Taste is the same, but the peach flavor is better described as peaches soaked in alcohol. Beer is way overcarbonated. After twenty minutes of swirling, it improves to a very drinkable beverage.

Orange peel aroma. Clear amber, thin head. Grapefruit peel and flesh flavor, quite nice. Subtle malt finish. Standard American IPA except it is even more grapefruity than most. Enjoyable.

Release 10 ABV 8.3: Caramel, tripel sec aroma, somewhat hot. Clear orange, thin head. Grassy hop flavor initially, peach and orange later. Orange peel remains on the palate. Alcohol is quite noticeable. Disjointed a wee bit.

22oz Bottle Thanks to Sam. Pours out a faded ruby red topped with a pink head. Aroma was light cherries, some cough syrup sweetness, light wood notes, and some tang. Taste was more of the light sweetness, cherries, and some light wood.

22oz bottle pours a hazy, bright gold with a frothy white head. Nose is nice, soapy, noble hops, earthy, meyer lemons. Flavor is earthy, herbal, lemons, hops, bitter orange. Full bodied, dry, bitter finish.

Release #2 ABV: 10.1% Orange peel and pine aroma. Clear amber, noticeable lack of carbonation, medium yellow lacing head. Chewy with a little heat on the back. Honey, orange, and pine flavor in generous amounts. Lesser barley malt notes. Orange peel finish. Resinous and very bitter. Kind of over the top and certainly not for a novice. Fans of the style probably love it.

Courtesy of douglas88. Bomber pours clear copper with full off white head. The aroma has baskets of earthy citrus rind and citrus meat that make it seem like the beer had fresh citrus sitting in it for some time. For the style the aroma comes up a little short in depth and pungency. The taste is thick with a medley of malt sweetened citrus fruit hop flavor with mild levels of citrus bitterring hop notes. Pretty yummy brew.

Courtesy of douglas88. Thanks! The bomber pours clear deep gold with off white head. The aroma offers up spicy hops, wheat bread, some caramel and earthiness. The taste is a mix of earthy hops, citrus like hops, malts and caramel malts that all seem to slide into the finish unchanged. Full flavored Mild with loads of body for the style.
