Can, from the brewery. Golden colour, thin head. Light bready pale malt note, hint of biscuit. Maybe a touch of green apple, bit fuselly but ok for new world maibock.

Slight haze. Touch of blue/pink. Looks nice. Soft, light tartness, touch of bloob and has a saline finish. Solid, balanced.

Cask head...was this from their handpump? Dull hazy amber. Earthy, caramel, has a toasty, bitter note. This one didn't quite land for me.

Served on cask, which probably wasn't optimal. It's a bit flat that way, and that really brings out a lot of sugars, maybe a touch of caramel, a chocolate syrup note. But that's about it - other characteristics are lacking.

Murky greyish colour. Fruity berry hops, and light phenols. Light bitterness. Decent brew, but maybe could use more prominent hopping.

Golden with a medium head. Light fruity aroma, like currants and berries. Similar palate, and light bitterness. Ok, it's clean and bright, but neither malt nor hop stands out.

Golden-amber. Thin head. Basically caramel on the nose. Toasty, caramelly on the palate. Not much bitterness. A fairly well-made example of an uninteresting style.

Cask at the brewpub. Smells of medium soft hops, nothing pushing too hard. Has okay white foam and a semi-clear orange gold body. Flavour is sweet sugariness without much hop character. Mouthfeel is full but sugary and lacking crispness. This is simply adequate, needs more pronounced flavours.

On tap at the brewpub. Has an aroma of soft brown sugar, and a nice clear brown copper body with a little bit of foam on top. Flavour is floral dark tea sorta, kind of strange but unique and certainly not what I'd expect from an amber. Mouthfeel is full and sweet but it works. This is not quite an amber but I enjoyed it and will remember it.

Dark brown black body and a bit of foam on top. Smells softly of sharp molasses and a bit of barley. Flavour is soft molasses with some vague sweet oatmeal hints. Full enough on the mouth. About average for a local sweet stout.
