Very pale, almost blueish. So they're using butterfly pea to colour this, to match up with the spruce flavour. Tart, light spruce, good balance.

Purple colour, thin head. Lots of cinnamon on the nose, quite tart as is the way with this brewery’s kettle stuff. Like jamaica note lends a juicy fruitiness but it’s more the cinnamon.

473mL can, pours jet black with a medium tan head. Nose is loaded with anise and black liquorice upfront, with a moderate roasted malt base underneath. Flavour is dry and roasty, being dominated by the black liquorice, followed by the star anise, and dusty dry roast. Not the most complex, but the incorporation of the liquorice and anise works well enough. Not the most interesting beer but it's fine.

Hazy and dull pale but with a nice head. Bretty, hoppy aroma, medium bitterness and more of that brett pale character, with some yeastiness.

473 ml can. Pours a dark brown with full head. Aromas of cardamom, paper, sharp black coffee, and roasted malts. Flavors of stale black coffee, cardboard, postage stamp, dry cardamom and roasted malts. Poorly integrated.

473mL can. Pours murky yellow with large foamy white head. Aroma has some spicy rye, a bit of citrus, some crisp malts. Flavour has a bit of rye spiciness, some citrus and stone fruit, a tiny bit of lemon rind. Nice flavour profile, but could be much more aggressive.

473mL can, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma exudes plenty of spicy rye, piney hops, some melon, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is a bit jumbled, with earthy and citrus hops, spicy rye, and bready malt. The hop expression is a bit muted and flat, with a murky palate (not as egregious as a typical hazy). It's alright, but seems a bit dull.

On tap at The Magnet. Pours dark with a large light rose head. Aroma very upfront with raspberry and cherry with subtle notes of dark chocolate. Flavour has high acidity with sour cherry tipping the balance over raspberry. Very sour berry-forward, but that's what we're here for. Good beer.

On tap at The Magnet. Pouts clear light gold with small white head. Aroma is highlighted by kiwi notes. Flavour is tart with zest and some distinct kiwi flavour. Barrel contributed some floral notes and a bit of woody dryness on the finish. Well-balanced and refreshing.
