Poured from 500mL bottle. Bright amber orange with minimal white head. Marzipan, nutty wood, a bit bland. Disappointing.

500mL bottle, pours a clear dark amber with a tiny white head. Aroma has plenty of marzipan/almond character, some peanut, some red fruits, and light herbaceousness (almost lightly vegetal). Flavour is unusual, with lots of peanuts, red fruits, some herbaceous notes, vanillin, and big boozy barrel. The barrel is too boozy, and there’s a pervasive peanut character pervading. Nothing off about it, but it’s far from expected or refined. It’s decent.

500ml (thx, Vika!) @ Ryan's.
Aroma: earthy untoasted peanuts 🥜?! Wtf?!
Taste: thankfully, it's not as peanutty. There is a very nice barleywine body, caramel, but also a booze kick.
Overall: something went wrong with this one.

Amber, slight haze, has a nose of peanuts. Some caramel, toffee sort of notes, decent body, a bit of stickiness, again the peanuts. Where is that coming from? Lots of boozy accents and some sweet, slightly caramelized sugars. Not showing a ton of age, I don't think. I don't hate it, but it's definitely a bit odd.

500mL bottle. Pours a hazy golden brown with a small white head. Lots of raw peanuts up front and some rough liquor barrels on the nose. Flavour also has that peanut character, golden raisins, some light brown sugar, and pretty rough whiskey-adjacent barrels. Not bad, but pretty haphazard; decent.

500mL bottle, pours a clear dark orange with a small white head. Aroma has very subtle bourbon barrels, caramel bready malt, and a touch of orange marmalade. Flavour is much the same, with subtle bourbon barrels, caramel malt, orange marmalade, and a touch of toffee. Not super complex, but has a nice malt base and just enough barrels to accentuate. Very good.

Light amber, with slight haze. Not much haze. The aroma does have a bit of phenol, which is unfortunate, a bit headsy. On the palate, it is a bit sticky, a bit phenolic, the bourbon is just okay and I think it is kicking off the phenols. I don't hate it, but it's not as clean as it could be, and as such doesn't showcase enough fermentation complexity.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Hazed amber gold with small white head. Sticky sweet, more of a wheat wine than barley wine, not picking up bourbon barrels, decent for BC.

500mL bottle. Pours mostly clear dull gold with a minimal head. Golden rains, light sugars, and some smoky wood on the nose. Flavour has golden raisins, dried light fruits, woody bourbon. Not particularly complex, but it's pleasant enough.

500 ml bottle. Pours a dark copper colour with no head. Aromas of postage stamp, vegetal oak, and toasted malts. Flavors of cheap bourbon, green oak, raisins and toasted malts. Finishes with a hot dose of booze and faint vegetable notes. Not up to par with previous years and may be infected. Local “bourbon-style” barrels?
