Description
Prairie Dog Brewing is a 200-seat family-friendly barbecue restaurant (brewpub) based solely in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Known for our relaxed, conversation-friendly dining experience, friendly and honest staff, “no tip expected” philosophy, and our approachable craft beer, non-alcoholic, guest liquor and shareable BBQ menus, our establishment is especially conducive to groups of friends, family or coworkers.
Ever since our founding in early 2016, we aimed to become a renowned destination that would be known as an integral part of our community, and which people would aspire to be a part of, whether as patrons, staff, entertainers, artists, partners, suppliers or service providers. We opened our doors to the public in June of 2018, and have experienced tremendous success and support from Calgarians, as well as the Alberta community as a whole.
Our tag line is “Beer, Barbecue, Friends”, because we want to bring people together in our conversation-friendly, family-friendly, easy-going setting to commiserate over beer and barbecue. COVID-19 really threw a wrench in our plan, but that didn’t stop us from providing world-class barbecue and craft beer to Calgarians through takeout and delivery, and finally reopening for Dine-In on August 24, 2020.
Come in to enjoy BBQ and beer in our spacious brewpub with some of the best COVID-19 safety precautions in the city. With our HVAC efficiencies our entire brewpub is like an indoor patio with the air being 100% replaced every 45 minutes. See you soon BBQ and Beer friends!

Can, a gift from my manager. Aroma combines light citrus and cream. Clear light gold. Thin foamy translucent white head really thins out. Medium bitter. Resin and citrus. Herbal. And underlying chalky dusty element (admittedly, I have no recollection of having previously tasted either of these for comparison purposes). Light. Thin to slick. Soft carbonation, verging on flat. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Crisp dry stuff... satisfying.

473ml can. Pours a clear pale straw colour with a thin, foamy, short lived, white head that leaves spotty lacing. Mild aroma of bready pale malt, citrus and floral hops. Sweet flavour of grainy pale malt, tropical fruit and grassy hops in a crisp, dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Clean, refreshing and crushable. Not bad for a light lager.

473ml can. Pours a hazy orange red with a small, foamy, long lasting, pale pink head that laces nicely. Sweet fruity aroma is dominated by raspberry with bready wheat malt and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, raspberry, Belgian yeast and spicy hops in a dry, slightly tart, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Refreshing, but the raspberry overpowers the Belgian characteristics of this beer.
