Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Hazy to cloudy light amber color, dull. The aroma is a bit dank. The mouthfeel is lean, dry, not weak; some simple malt and caramel flavor, but mostly too much vegetables notes, and the hop resins create a strong astringency in the final.
Chaotic idea, not well executed either.
Not very pleasant.

On tap. Pours black with moderate creamy tan head. Aromas of dry coffe beans and roasted malts. Flavors of rich freshly ground coffee, bitter dark chocolate, and smooth roasted malts. Really nice for a coffee stout - rich without being acidic. Right on.

Hazy amber color. A bit of caramel, the flavor is better than the aroma, and the bitterness level is ok; clean brew; this makes a decent Amber Ale, it has no bitter character.

On tap at Central City on Beatty, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of dry bready malt and gentle British hops. Flavour is very true to style, with gentle British hops balanced with a dry bready malt backbone. Subtle yet very drinkable and authentic. Very nice for what it is.

Cloudy golden color. Taken by surprise by the aroma, stinky cheese. It tastes like a Pale Ale with liquid stinky cheese in it (Vacherin du Mont d’Or style); correct bitterness; in such a mess it’s hard to find the tropical fruits.
How can you sell this???

On tap at Trading Post, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings outs lots of roasted malt that dominates, with some coffee in there as well. Flavour is quite robust and somewhat astringent, with loads of roasted malt and coffee. The roast is rather harsh and again, leaves an astringency on the finish. Despite the harshness, it drinks pretty well. Could use some tweaking. Decent.

On tap at Trading Post, pours a cloudy opaque golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out farmhouse funk, tropical stone fruits and some citrus hops. Flavour is well-integrated, with citrus hops, lots of farmhouse funk and stone fruits. It has a good balance between the funk from the brett, the fruitiness and astringency from the hops. Very good.

On tap at Trading Post, pours a bright pinkish red with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out faded cranberries and some cleaner notes. Flavour is very tart, acidic and pithy, with the cranberries dominating front and centre with no sense of grace or harmony. This isn't good.

On tap at Trading Post, pours an absolutely filthy murky orange of some sort with a small white head. Aroma is very yeasty, with lots of tropical fruitiness bursting out amongst the earthy dirty yeasty quality. Flavour is along the same lines, with tons of earthy and yeasty dirtiness, mixed in with all sorts of tropical fruitiness. This is really messy. They can't possibly have intended it to turn out like this. Quite bad.
