Can. Opaque. So yeah, a dull pale amber colour with a thin head. Not super attractive and doesn't give me much sense of what's going on here. The aroma is old school DIPA, mostly piney, grapefruity hops, but with a touch of alcohol and harsh phenols. On the palate, those harsh phenols comes across more clearly as alcohol. The malts aren't great, just being weak with a touch of old school chewiness. The hops are similar - just some c-hop stuff in a dullish format. All the expected elements of a DIPA are here, and nothing in particular wrong with any of them, but none of them dance nor do they make each other dance. And so it falls flat.

Pours with huge foam on a medium copper body. Smooth hazelnut malts on the nose, some hops, very homebrewish. Flavour is more hazelnut, soft biscuit, slightly murky aftertaste. Okay.

Dark amber, head is thin. Well, it smells like rancid butter. Horrid. Butter. Super chewy, lots of bitterness, some oranges, but rancid disgusting diacetyl.

650mL bottle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out caramel, resinous hops, and a little butter. Flavour is more piney and dry, with biscuity malt, piney hops and diacetyl. Infected as hell -- this is shitty.

650mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle piney hops and a crisp bready malt base. Flavour is on the malty side, with lots of bready malt, restrained piney hops, and a bit of chewy caramel. Not overly pleasant — the malt is overemphasized. Meh.

Draught at Dageraad, Burnaby
Murky blond colour. The aroma is juicy, mango, light banana, light plums, mild dank. Good mouthfeel, soft without being too chalky, mild residual sweetness; the hopping is juicy, not as boombastic as the best examples, but it's in the right direction; the bitterness is very low; the chalk can be perceived a bit in the finish.
Good.

On tap at Dageraad, pour some an opaque orangey yellow with a small white head. Aroma is very dank, pithy and yeasty, with lots of yeast soup, dank hops, and very pithy stone fruits. Flavour is very yeasty, with tons of stone fruit pith, chalky yeast soup, and dank hops. Chewy, chalky, yeasty - exactly what I'm fed up with in this style. Not good, but I've had worse.
