Slow carbo, gold colour, thin head. Big alcohol on the nose, with some slight crystal malt chewiness and plenty of creamed corn. Full body. Noticeable hop crispness. More chewy maltiness. Everything in balance, and it still retains that kick-you-in-the-nuts character a malt liquor needs to have. A rating to style would be in the high 4s. As it is, this is a remarkably high quality forty.

Light gold. Plasticy, grainy nose. Bland, sweetish flavour. A bit grainy. The finish is watery with a hint of stale caramel. At the low end of macrobrew.

Pale straw colour. Grainy, slightly malty aroma with light fusel alcohol. Light body. Vaguely malty. Finish a bit biscuity, but lightning quick.

Straw colour. Grainy-malty aroma with very light hop. Again, a faint hint of hops punctuates the otherwise grainy and very watery palate. Instant finish. A beer designed to taste of nothing, and which almost succeeds.

Pale golden lager with a thick white resilient head. Rather lemony aroma with chalky notes. Lightly malted taste with little hops, no character, a bit sweet corn taste, rather plain. Inoffensive.

Golden beer with a small white head. Pleasant bananas in aroma, almost like a wheat beer, or a hefe. Light fruity taste with pleasant malt. Nice bodied. Actually a very decent malt liquor, aka, Saskahootch. Thanks to the capflu. (Sept. 2004)

Gold coloured hooch with big bubbly head. Decent malt aroma for such a beer, with decent malt in tatste, with some sweet minty finish. Faint hops detected.Medium bodied. Its Saska-hootch. Thanks to the Cap to bring this back from God’s country.

I love the can - Bitter in big letters, "premium lager" in small print. So Bitter in the Australian sense of the word then. OK. Golden colour. Charcoal and decay on the nose. Light body. Bland. Hint of cinnamon. Watery but drinkable.
