Description
Focused on the Craft

Ruse Brewing is an artisanal brewery inspired by Portland's creative community & culture. These attributes are what inspire us to create our art: craft beer.

We brew small batch, flavorful, and thoughtfully-crafted beers. We work with local artists and musicians to design beers paired with their art for concept events and beer releases. Our community is a major inspiration for our company vision, we will do what it takes to be involved and support other businesses and organizations.

Can shared by Jack, thanks! Pours Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has fresh grass and a hint of citrus rind with straw and a hint of grain backing. Flavor has earthy citrus and straw with a bit of dank grass and a light bread note.

Called a New England Pale Ale, a new style to me. Hazy orange body with white head. Sweet tangerine aroma. Sweet citrus taste with a bit of bitter. Tang in the finish.

On tap at Chuck's on 85th, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out esters, rustic saison yeast, and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with rustic saison yeast and sweet cereal notes. Rustic and estery. It's alright.

This pairing may be a bit in the nose but what the hell: Ruse / Moksa Waffle Iron 11% Stroopwafel-inspired Stout paired with a stroopwafel Inky black with a tan head that vanished in a blink, the aroma is soy with a sugar puff/cotton candy type of sweetness. Full bodied and super sweet candyish up front then roasty soy before that cotton candy sweetness comes back. Paired with my stroopwafel the beer gets less sweet and more beerlike with the graham from the stroopwafel shining through. Huge boozy beer, pair it as I find it too sweet on its own... Solo 3.4 Paired 3.6-7
