Ruse Brewing is an artisanal brewery inspired by Portland's creative community & culture. These attributes are what inspire us to create our art: craft beer.
We brew small batch, flavorful, and thoughtfully-crafted beers. We work with local artists and musicians to design beers paired with their art for concept events and beer releases. Our community is a major inspiration for our company vision, we will do what it takes to be involved and support other businesses and organizations.

On tap at Ruse, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is dry and roasty, with medium roasted malt and dry cocoa. Flavour has a nice woody roasted malt character running through, with subtle dry cocoa and a touch of coffee. Dry, roasty and wood. Good stuff.

On tap at Ruse, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is full of allium — damn you, Citra — with gentle dankness and crisp biscuity malt to back. Flavour is dank and oniony, with grassy hops, allium, and crisp biscuity malt. The allium is quite intrusive on an otherwise good beer. Decent but I just don’t like modern Citra much anymore.

On tap at Ruse, pours an opaque bright yellow with a small white head. Aroma is very chalky, though not much hopburn; it’s all just muddled, earthy nonsense with nary a trace of tropical fruitiness. Flavour is pretty much identical: some tropical fruits, but chalky oatiness cloud this up and cover over any distinguishing hoppy features. The usual hazy nonsense.

On tap at Ruse, pours an opaque pink, no head. Nose is full of tart mango juice, sour guava, and orange juice. Flavour is quite tart and sweet, with sweet mango, orange and guava, with quite a bit of tartness and acidity to balance. Egregious style but reasonably executed.

On tap at Ruse, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some seltzery notes, straw and Visigoth malt. Flavour is crisp, with seltzery notes, straw, gentle grassy hopping, and crisp biscuity malt. Carb is a bit high but that aids the drinkability to me. Good.
