On tap at Little Beast, pours an opaque murky dark red with no head. Nose is full of intense bourbon barrels, lots of toffee, dark dried fruits, and some vanillin. Flavour is sort of like a tart fruity barleywine; it’s dominated by the bourbon barrels, with tart red fruits, sugars that are immediately eclipsed by the tartness. Surprisingly nice—definitely not tripel-like. Whatever it is, it’s a pleasant bizarre strong ale.
P.S. the PDX brewery tasting room describes this as a tripel, but I don’t see how that’s correct.

On tap at Little Beast, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has fresh piney hops, a little citrus, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour has a very nice oily piney hop character, some very gentle citrus and biscuity malt. Solid classic pine character but without the hop depth of the elite westies. Very good.

On tap at Little Beast, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has soft pine, bright grassy hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is bright, with plenty of grassy hops, gentle pine, and a soft biscuity malt base. Bright grass on the finish. Very fresh, vibrant hoppy lager.

Pint can. Orange marmalade aroma with notes of caramel, dark fruit, herbal hops, dank grapefruit and pine resiny hops. Pours clear amber colored with a large off white head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with caramel malt, dark fruit and herbal hop flavors. Finishes dry and slightly bitter with orange marmalade, grapefruit and pine resiny hop flavors. Good, but still not entirely sure what to make of it.

Pint can. Pours an opaque black with a small off-white head. The aroma is burnt malts and some coffee. The taste, like the aroma, is burnt grains and coffee. The palate seemed a bit thin for a porter. Finishes medium in duration, bitter and dry. Overall: Nice, but not very complex. Would possibly pair well with some burnt toast.
