Founded by partners in life and work, Charles Porter and Brenda Crow, Little Beast is a family brewery with a passion for making great beer and sharing it with others.
We craft wild, wood-aged and blended beer naturally with diverse cultures, including Saccharomyces, Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and wild flora. By harnessing the little beasts that ferment our beer, we capture their untamed beauty and produce farmhouse beers that are diverse in flavor and rare in character.

On tap at The Beer Junction, pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma has rich bourbon barrels and marshmallows upfront, with a touch of cocoa and some brown sugar. Flavour is very rich, with big bourbon barrels upfront, followed by marshmallow, dark sugars, and a touch of cocoa. Big bourbon dominates without being boozy, with nice accentuation from the marshmallow. Lovely.

On tap at Chuck’s Seward Park, pours a clear pale golden with a tiny head. Aroma has plenty of musty brett, some hay, and earthiness. Flavour has a nice musty brett character, some rustic saison yeast, and some light hay. Dry, musty brett expression, with a good rustic base. Very good.

On a flight at the Whole Foods bar (Rocket-In), Laguna Niguel on 27th March 2025. Son-in-Law Matthew goes to the Gym across the road and I get two flights of four beers in while he keeps fit and drives me back to his place, great system! Thought this might have been a left over from St Patrick's Day, but it wasn't green at all. It was however the only none Californian beer on the menu I hadn't had before, hence ordering it. There was a slight haze in the golden pour, a weak white head sat on top for a short while before turning into a collar and wisp. On the dank side of citrusy hops with a decent dose of malts for a bit of balance. Nice finish to the first flight.

On tap at Little Beast, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is bold, with intense roasted malt, deep bourbon barrels, and brown sugar. Flavour is even better, with deep bourbon barrels, medium roast, and some woodiness. Beautifully balanced, with deep woodiness, roast and barrel. Excellent.
