Dark brown ale with a reddish hue, with a thin off white head. Light coffee aroma with black olive notes, not impressive. In mouth, a light sourish porter, with cold coffee and bitter chocolate, very light bodied, and starting to go off.

Bottle. Dark brown, creamy brown head. Dry chalky light roasted aroma. No idea if it is intentional, but it is somewhat salty, otherwise really tiptoein on the palate. Rather thin. Quick finish.

This beer has always sucked. I bought a bottle that was less than a month old and it was infected. Given a chance to try it on tap, I took it since I figured maybe the bottles are the problem. Well, um, no. Looks good. The aroma is carmel and diacetyl. Thin body, vague nuts and more diacetyl. Even when not sour infected this is lousy, unprofessional stuff.

Bright golden colour. Crackerlike, corn pop aroma. Thin, bland, cracker taste. Slight acidity in the back. No body. No particular malts, not even the standard caramel. Gak.

Bottle Pours a clear dark brown with a small light tan head. Aromas were roasted malt and some light hops. Flavors were no\thing special. Some expected dark roast, slightly burnt notes, but a fairly thin astringent somewhat dry/sour taste. Feel was a very soft carbonation and otherwise smooth and a bit thin. A little dissapointing.

Dull amber colour. Aroma is doughy, sweaty. The flavour is equally bland - vague maltiness, shy hops, slightly sweaty yeast note. Quick, sweetish finish. With the BC ubiquiyeast and EKGs, this beer doesn’t have a chance in hell of scoring well with me because it tastes like every other amber in BC. I’m big on distinctive beers, and this isn’t.

Dark straw colour. Sweaty, earthy but light aroma (wow - every brewer in BC really does use the same yeast - or so it tastes). Local hops? WTF? On Salt Spring? Since when? Why was I not informed of this? It’s not that I don’t believe them, but after the farm in Chilliwack closed I thought the only hops in BC were up at Crannog. Creamy, zippy, almost Belgian mouthfeel. Body is light, sweetish with wonderbread and fleeting earthy hop notes. Slightly tart finish.

Are we all drinking the same beer here? Sparkling amber, fast fading beige head.Cidery & carmel nose.Astringent vinergary flavor with a touch of carmel. Not the worst Winter beer I have sampled, but not far off. Hopefully I just got a bad one, but at the price, I wont be trying again, hoping fora better one

Murky chestnut colour with no head. Woody, chocolatey aroma with a hint of vanilla. Relatively flat. I like the toasty, chocolatey, woody flavour. Slightly tart, sweet malt finish.

A white head leads into a whiff of a fresh coffe bag being opened. The body is full and FULL of coffee flavour with a nice smooth chocolately finish. Perhaps Canada’s best porter!
