Description
Carlsberg’s brewery in Valby, Copenhagen was founded by JC Jacobsen on 10th November 1847.
In 1970, Carlsberg merged with the other leading Danish brewery, Tuborg. Carlsberg Danmark became a fully owned subsidiary of the Carlsberg Group in 2000 and merged with Coca-Cola Tapperierne Danmark in 2001.
Carlsberg has also owned the Wiibroe brewery in North Zealand since 1964 and began brewing Wiibroe beer in 1998.
Carlsberg Danmark is the country’s leading producer and supplier of beer and soft drinks. Carlsberg, Tuborg and Coca-Cola are among the strongest brands in Denmark, giving Carlsberg a 63% share of the beer market and 50% of the soft drinks market.
Address is office only. Production site address: Vestre Ringvej 111, 7000 Fredericia.
Carlsberg Danmark is also enjoying great success in the fast developing speciality beer market. Through the Semper Ardens series, launched in 1999, the Jacobsen Brewhouse, which opened in 2005, and the Kongens Bryghus series, launched in 2007, it has gained a leading position in the sector.
At the end of 2008, Carlsberg Danmark moved all production from its Valby site in Copenhagen to the Carlsberg brewery in Fredericia, thus leaving the industrial Valby site open for a town development project.

[33cl can on a cruise ship on the Med, can’t believe that I haven’t rated this before.] A straw coloured pour with a loose white head; sweet grainy aroma; sweet grainy taste with a grassy bitterness lifted by a little citrus.

Can 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a short, fizzy, dissipating off-white head. Spicy but faint hop aroma - I get Nelson Sauvin which is probably very unlikely. Expectedly light in body, fizzy like a soda pop with very little maltiness and even less bitterness in the finish. I cannot say I don't like it, it just seems like a beer for people who don't like beer much. 130326

Tap at Carlsberg Home of Beer. Chestnut. Caramel, bread, roasted, tad of butter. Easy to drink, with caramel, oily. Also they have horses here, you can visit them at the stable or in the garden. And the stuff at the bar was super friendly.

Tap at Home Of Carlsberg, Copenhagen. Pours clear straw with large white head. Aroma is malt, sugar, syrup, bread, hay, and lemon zest. Taste is medium to very sweet, light to medium bitter, and light acidic. Body is light oily with sparkling carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of malt, grain, hay, and lemon. A bit thin but more taste than a true nonalcoholic beer.
