Description
Carlsberg’s brewery in Valby, Copenhagen was founded by JC Jacobsen on 10th November 1847.

In 1970, Carlsberg merged with the other leading Danish brewery, Tuborg. Carlsberg Danmark became a fully owned subsidiary of the Carlsberg Group in 2000 and merged with Coca-Cola Tapperierne Danmark in 2001.

Carlsberg has also owned the Wiibroe brewery in North Zealand since 1964 and began brewing Wiibroe beer in 1998.

Carlsberg Danmark is the country’s leading producer and supplier of beer and soft drinks. Carlsberg, Tuborg and Coca-Cola are among the strongest brands in Denmark, giving Carlsberg a 63% share of the beer market and 50% of the soft drinks market.
Address is office only. Production site address: Vestre Ringvej 111, 7000 Fredericia.

Carlsberg Danmark is also enjoying great success in the fast developing speciality beer market. Through the Semper Ardens series, launched in 1999, the Jacobsen Brewhouse, which opened in 2005, and the Kongens Bryghus series, launched in 2007, it has gained a leading position in the sector.

At the end of 2008, Carlsberg Danmark moved all production from its Valby site in Copenhagen to the Carlsberg brewery in Fredericia, thus leaving the industrial Valby site open for a town development project.

Can 33 cl. Pours a cloudy opaque golden with a short, fizzy and dissipating head. Fresh lemon aroma. Surprisingly medium bodied, sweet but not cloyingly so with nice and fresh lemonade accents. Refreshing. 180525

Can. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, with estery and woody touches. Sweetish, malty and estery flavour with woody notes and touches of hops. Estery and woody aftertaste with acidic touches. Well, drinkable for the style but nothing exciting.

Can, 0.0%. Very caramelly aroma. Sweetish and malty-smelling with a spicy hop note. Clear dark copper colour. Very unstable white head. The flavour is malty, caramelly with a spicy hop flavour and a good deal of soy. Mildly metallic finish.

clear dark golden to bright amber colourm medium sized dense and quite stable ecru head; aroma of apple peel, canned apple and pear, some peach, apricot jam, slight tangerine, marmalade and alcoholic notes; taste is less complex than the aroma but still has some fruitiness - and a lot of (somewhat unbalanced) alcohol; anyway, I like it

Jens Smagning 11/04/2025 - funky with notes of orchard fruit, fruit skin, has a tartness but picking up a sweet herbal honey edge, vinous fruity going sourish into the finish.

Bottled. An unclear light amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of fruit, malt, and brettanomyces. The flavor is sweet with notes of brettanomyces, malt, and fruit, leading to a dry finish. 7/3/7/3/14
