Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, treacle and arguably a mint hint. Full bodied. Flavor of chocolate and treacle, arguably some wood, and a mint touch. It’s a pretty good stout. The mint doesn’t seem harmful, and the wood is a nice thing with the chocolate.

16oz pour in The Signature Sports Bar, Laguna Niguel on 12th May 2016. Cloudy orange/amber body, white head. Hoppy and fruity with a mini-citrus feel and bittering finish. Liked it.

Can from The Bottle Shop Canterbury and drunk at home. Clear amber colour lasting cream head. Some sweetish toffee crystal malt aroma. Yes some hop, some bitterness, but it has that horrible crystal malt aroma and flavour. The hops are just bitter rather than fruity. Black pepper bitterness. Fresh enough, but not that good.

Bottle at home. Pitch black with a tan head. Smells of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. The taste follows the same notes. Smooth-ish mouthfeel, with a chocolate bitter aftertaste.

22oz bottle shared with my wife on 9th May 2016 while on holiday in California, poured into Corsendonk badged stemmed tulip glasses. Lovely clear golden body with a full snow white foam blanket on top which gave some impressive lacing on the glasses. Full on hop aroma and taste, citrus bite to the flavour and nose from I assume the dry hopping. Liked it.
