Well first of all it’s cloudy. Thin head. Has this yeasty tartness in the nose, fruitiness. sweet, sticky, heavy malts...there’s some high test Dutch dorts like this but this is just not happening. Even getting past the fact this has zero dortmunder characteristics, it’s just not a pleasant beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Stas. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of roast, coffee, a bit of dark fruits. Bittersweet flavor with roast, coffee, salty note, a bit of dark fruits notes, and a bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied, rounded. Good.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty caramel and chocolate flavor with weak hints of licorice. Has a roasted malty chocolate and chocolate finish.

Orange color with a white head, medium lasting, nice lacing. Aroma is hoppy, notes of pine and resins, some fruitness, mainly orange and grapefruit. Flavor is fresh, mild maltiness with a decent bitterness, fruitness as well. Bittery final with good duration. Very drinkable.

Black colored, small tan head, creamy. Aroma is of caramel, chocolate and roasted malt, some coffee. Taste is medium sweet chocolate, some caramel, roasted malt and coffee, medium- bitter roasted dry finish. Medium bodied, creamy, soft carbonation. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

Can from Bison Beers, Brighton. It pours clear gold with decent white head. The nose is soft, sweet, juicy, melon, peach, nectarine and marmalade. The taste is crisp, pretty bitter, grapefruit, pithy citrus, melon, light alcohol, grassy, straw and biscuit with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.

Bottle split at CCii, from an IP trade, 05/03/16. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is light roast, chocolate, trace of spice, dark malt interplay. Taste comprises mellow dark fruit vibes, chocolate, biscuit, spice, toffee fudge. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Easy drinking impy but somewhat pedestrian and lacking authority.
