Keg at the Taproom, 07/11/14. Dark mahogany brown with moderate tan spotting. Nose is nutty, pumpkin, spice, soured fruit notes, tangy berries. Taste comprises rich caramel, tangy pumpkin pie, light brett nudge, soured fruit mash, caraway seed. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid pumpkin affair with a slightly tarte edge that dumbs down the sweetness.

On tap at Odd Otter, pours a cloudy dark maroon with a tiny head. Aroma brings out vinous notes, some varnish, perfume and candied notes. Flavour really brings out lots of varnish and perfume notes from the red wine barrels. Not much else is left here. Not very well done barrel aging.

On tap at Odd Otter, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of cocoa, light coffee and some roast. Flavour is similar, with notes of cocoa and roast in harmony. The alcohol doesn't show itself whatsoever. Well-balanced and clean. Not overly complex but it's solid.

On tap at Odd Otter, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of melon upfront, with secondary notes of clove and banana. Flavour is similar, bringing out loads of melon - unusual for a hef. Very little banana or clove. Strange for the style. A fruity melon bomb. Okay.

On tap at Odd Otter, pours a clear bronze with a small white head. Aroma brings a mix of resinous hops and sweet caramel malt. Flavour is similar, slightly too much on the malty sweetness, with resinous hops and sweet caramel malt. Overmalted, but not too bad. It's not what I look for in an IPA.
