Draft pour to a tulip at Hellbent, Lake City. A bright, copper orange pour. A little surprised to see this still on. I figured I missed out.on it, and was pleasantly surprised. Very bitter. Caramel malt, a bit on the toasty side, and a pine hop buttering constant. Cool mouthfeel. Has a sweet side, but doesn’t stand up to the bitterness in any way. Has that extra imperial IPA feel. In a blind, I’d think this would fit in with many of the triples I tried the last two years. Not bad, but less my type of session triple IPA.

On tap at Chuck's on 85th, pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, alcohol and bready malt. Flavour is robust, with lots of piney hops upfront, followed by toasted biscuity malt. Dry and bitter on the finish. Solid.

Draft 12 oz pour at Hellbent, Seattle. Expected a darker beer for one reason or another, so I was surprised to see a heavy winter warmer pour a bright glowing orange color. A sweet and spicy orange fruit aroma. Creamy body, spicy malt, orange cream, slight cinnamon. Ripe banana. A little sweet. A vanilla finish. A fun beer that seemed to get better and better as it went. Didn’t care to much for it at first, but now considering getting another. Good beer.

Draft 12 oz pour at Hellbent, Seattle. A beer I was very much anticipating trying, since I thought it was a lot of fun home brewing with lavender myself. Really blends nicely with the saison. Hazy golden pour. Floral dominated aroma, with some tangerine. Apple and cool floral flavor from start to finish. Has a juicy front, with a dry finish. A unique saison with a ton of fun character. Tasty.

Draft pour to a schooner at Hellbent. Hazy, reddish orange pour with a thin fizz head. Mixed berry over a light straw and wheat aroma. Flavor is a light, dusty wheat, with a muffled raspberry jam. Light, and easy to drink. Slight tart to it. Pretty refreshing. Good beer.

Draft pour pint at Hellbent. Golden orange pour with infinite cream foam head and lacing. Straw grains and an obvious sweetness aroma. Pilsner malt.flavor, but very creamy. Hop bitter to follow. Doesn’t have many of the less describable characteristics of a fresh hop. Crisp and creamy. Weird. Not bad, just strange.

Draft pour pint at Hellbent. First beer of what is hopefully a fantastic world series. Golden copper pour with a cream heavy head. Grapefruit consistent aroma. Flavor is bitter hops first, and throughout. Citrus hops over a light toasty malt. Drinks pretty easy. Bitter hop linger. Pretty good beer. Love the idea.

Draft pour pint at Hellbent. High carb, shiny golden pour with a snow covered roof. Semi corn grain aroma. Flavor is strangely nutty. It’s a nutty I’ve seen before, but hardly ever in a pilsener thick, cream body. Interesting for sure, but lacking the refreshment I look for in a pils.

Draft pour pint at Hellbent. Golden orange hazy pour with a cream cap head. Cream is definitely the theme here. Creamy body to mellow out a hop bitterness. Strong hop profile here. Oat obvious on this beer. Appropriate hop bite and flavor. Some orange. Solid pale here.

Draft pour pint at Hop and Hound, for Hellbent brewers night. I could travel 3 miles South from home and have this at the source, or 3 miles North, to have it while the brewer is here himself, drinking the same beer. Life is full of difficult, important decisions. Which side of a rock does moss grow? Anyway, pours a hazy copper color with a rocky head. I know this is borderline imperial statistics wise, but it has the full body and flavor of an imperial, and maybe then some. Packs a punch. Huge range of citrus, and bold bitterness. Carb bite up front, with a smooth finish. Lots and lots of hop goodness. Delicious. This beer deserves an imperial tag, even if the numbers don’t qualify it. Who says a quarterback can’t succeed in the NFL, if they are under 6 feet tall? Beast of a beer here, and damn good. Don’t test this anymore. Make it official.
