Draft - Caramel and citrus with a touch of twig. Hazy orange with a decent beige head. Caramel, light acidity and a bitter finish. Odd but also drinkable.

Draft - Nice citrus and bitterness. Hazy gold with a nice white head. Citrus notes and some peel with a light citric acidity in the finish. A bit on the sweet side but very drinkable.

Dark reddish-brown colour with a thin head. Lightly roasty, earthy, largely caramelly nose. Soft, caramelly character is sweet but supple and perilously drinkable. Just a hint of earthy hop for balance. Pretty darn good red ale.

Slightly spicy, caramelly, pumpkiny aroma. Cloudy amber colour is slightly orangey. Big, fleshy pumpkin, caramel taste with lots of hoppy dryness. Perhaps a touch of lacquer-like phenol in the finish, which is troubling. Sorry Paul - my trip to Pepperwood was a spur of the moment thing!

I had this one over dinner one weekend. Very good tasting but I found it to be very close tasting to the Monkey Brown. Poured the same, not quite as burnt tasting as the Monkey but equally as good.

I had this one over dinner one night and liked it. This beer poured a dark brown with a nice foamy head. Lots of roasted flavour. Smooth and very tasty.

Ruby-chestnut colour. Bright. Rich nitro head of light brown. Very nutty aroma (hazelnuts, walnuts) with just a hint of hops (and even then mostly because I wanted there to be in a dry-hopped beer). The nitro mix seems partial as there is still some fizziness and body left. Bitter chocolate, slight hazelnut, pumpernickel notes on the palate. Refreshing, with a slightly sweet start but getting drier towards the end. Less (no) nitro and a proper (not 5C) serving temperature would allow the quality of the beer to shine through. With what they’re doing to the beer in between tank and glass, they might as well be serving it to me in a plastic cup.

Clear molasses colour. Aroma shows toffee, earthy, slight soy sauce (not enough to bother me, thankfully), and chocolate marzipan. Body is quite sweet, but with a pronounced toffee development, light caramel, and finishes slightly tart. That finish gives it that Jacksonesque "moreish" quality to what is otherwise a nursing beer. While straightforward, this also possesses significant depth of character.

Hazy amber; earthy, slightly peachy hop aroma. Slightly soapy. Moderate bitterness (~30-32 IBUS), toasty amber malts. Light caramel and a tinge of diacetyl. Bitterness is lingering.
