Description

Aromas of molasses over the roasted and caramel malts. Mostly caramel malts in the taste with enough hops to cut most of the sweetness. Mildly dry finish and not too much lingering. Maybe hints of molasses. Alcohol is well-hidden with just a tad warmth. Deeper amber colour with a frothy beige head, average retention and light lace. An easy-drinking strong scotch ale.

Bottle: Poured a clear copper color weizen with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of banana bread and light cloves notes is quite enticing. Taste is also a mix of banana bread notes with some light clove notes and dry caramelized malt notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed dunkelweizen with great drinkability.

Bottle: Poured a dark amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt notes with light citrusy hops notes is OK. Taste is also a mix of heavy caramelized malt with some citrusy hops notes and some bitterness is discernible. Body is full with good carbonation. Malt profile is overly caramelized and too strong compared to hops notes to be truly enjoyable.

500ml bottle that pours a fairly clean, light golden colour with a frothy white cap, decent retention leaving some spots of foamy lacing. Big cereal, grain aromas with hints of hops. Malty flavours with the graininess and some slightly stronger hops here. Makes the beer on the dry side. Not a bad Kölsch all-around.

500ml bottle that pours a lightly hazy golden colour with an orange hue. The head is big, frothy, kind of creamy, very long lasting and leaving some thin creamy lacing. Big cereal grain aromas of malts with a touch of caramel. Hops come out when glass is swirled. They are also more present in the taste. Grassiness, decent bitterness and building dryness in the finish. Not your typical IPA, with farm notes, but you do get used to the graininess and how it blends.

Can: Poured a golden color lager with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet malt notes with some residual sugar and light corn notes. Taste is also a mix of lightly sweet malt notes with some light corn adjunct notes that are subtle with a sweeter then expected finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Refreshing and easy drinking but maybe at tad sweeter then I would have liked.
