Description

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a hazy yellow color with a decent transparency about it to allow a slight carbonation to be seen rising into a one finger white foamy head. Once the head dissipated and in fact, that head barely lasted twenty seconds, boy did that fade fast, there was some light stringy speckled lacing roaming all over the glass.
The smell had a zesty lemon, clove, banana esters combined and coming through in a sweet sort of way.
The taste took those flavors and combined nicely.
On the palate, this one sat fairly light and came across fairly sessionable. The carbonation was there and decent as a witbier and good to me.
Overall, good witbier I’d have again if I could get it.

Ce produit me laisse perplexe...

Bottle: Poured a clear color brown ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of grainy Belgian malt with light sweet notes is not the most exciting. Taste is also dominated by light sweet notes with some grainy malt and light cereal aftertaste. Body is light for style with good carbonation. Overall, this beer lacked complexity and the grainy malt notes were really not interesting.

Bottle: Poured a hazy beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some pretty good lacing. Aroma consists of spicy wheat malt with light hoppy kick. Taste is dominated by mildly sweet wheat malt backbone with some peppery notes and sharp hoppy finish. Body is quite full for style with good carbonation. Very refreshing with nice level of complexity than your standard German weizen.

Total Wine, McLean 750ml ($9): Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is fruity, toffee, candied sugar, some hops, a bit of yeast. Taste is a little underwhelming. Somewhat sweet, with some lightly bitter, but nondescript hop notes. I got some off-notes... tasted almost like it was too old, but this bottle it new to the market, so it doesn’t seem to actually be too old. Maybe it is something with the malts I had a problem with. Lacking serious complexity. Easy enough to drink.
