The beer academy is certainly improving on quality. They seem to do average styles extremely well, and thats something. This smells smoky with a big dose of oats. More pronounced than I usually encounter in many oatmeal stouts. Pours cloudy orange-brown with a little cream on top and a little lacing. Palate also has a very creamy feel. Aftertase has some bitterness and nut. Theres also an initial smell of malt. On tap at brewpub.

Wow. I feel like this is the first real kolsch ive tasted. Excellent beer, and something totally unique in my experience. Aroma of super crisp malt, almost spicy, orange zest hops and barley. Pours cloudy orange with good head and medium lacing. Taste is grainy and a little bitter with some spice. Palate is all over the place in a good way. Awesome beer. On tap at brewpub.

Black color with brownish creamy head. Some aroma of roasted malts, paper, light smoke. Smooth mouthfeel with good roasted malt and dark chocolate flavor, but not much smoke. Correct bitterness. Pleasant.

Black color with creamy head. The aroma is hoppy and quite fruity. Roasted malt flavor, smooth mouthfeel, good hopping, expected bitterness level, and overall it’s well balanced.
Very good.

Muddy light amber color, with creamy head. The aroma is nice, a bit fruity and buttery. Smooth mouthfeel, with malt flavor, sweetish, a bit fruity, correctly bitter, very light butter; a bit drier in the end.
Maybe flawed, but decent and pleasant.

Cloudy deep blond color, small head. Light breadish aroma. The flavor is breadish too, with some light wheat. Too simple.

Wow, this ones a doozy. Smells a little like hops drowned in bleach then dried out in the sun. Pours alright, reddish brown with pretty good lacing but palate is pretty nasty and tastes like stink. Reminds me of mill streets 80! - and that’s not a good thing.

Not bad. They tried a good stab at this one at least. Pours cloudy yellow with good head and lacing. Great lacing. Smell has banana and a little coriander. Taste comes off lightly, not a huge palate but there’s a little presence at least. Alright for stye.
