Description

11 July 2020. At Cambrinus, Bruges. Cheers to Anke, mom & dad! Clear dark brown with a stable, small, foamy, tan head. Aroma of sour cherry, brambleberry, balsamico, toffee, cake, wood, peanut, lemon peel. Taste has sweet cherry & red apple, toffee malty body with sour funky balsamico & brambleberries underneath, a bit woody. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, more vinegar, sour cherry & bread. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Bit too sweet perhaps but not bad.

11 July 2020. At Cambrinus, Bruges. Cheers to Anke, mom & dad! Hazy golden with a huge, lasting, frothy, white head; some lacing. Aroma of banana liqueur, candied apricot, breadcrust, clove, pear, yeast, ripe apple. Taste has sweet banana, apricot & mandarin, spicy notes of clove & pepper, a bit sourish with a thick doughy malty backbone. Spicy, yeasty, bit earthy hoppy finish, ripe yellow fruit & boozy jenever alcohol lingering. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Not refined but it's actually agreeable to drink.

hazy pale yellow colour, large, though quickly disappearing white head; aroma of grainy, yeasty, slight citrusy and apricot notes; taste is basically the same with some metallic notes; not that bad, though clearly far from the best tripels
