Draft - Roast malts with chocolate. Jet black with a rich brown head. Bittersweet chocolate and cheery in the finish. Slight tartness in there as well, with a body that is a bit thin.

Draft - Sweet almost ketchup and herb. Clear copper with a decent white head. Big almost salty malt, with a tartness and bitterness that fades quick. Another odd one, this on the verge of a soured brun.

Draft - Oregano and pineapple, amazing. Clear copper with a decent white head. Oregano, sweet yeast and a bit of tomato? Odd and fun, but smells so much better than it tastes.

5 oz sample draft at Colorado Plus in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The pour is slight hazed golden brown with a small light tan head. The aroma is sweet caramel and hot butter. The taste is the nose, sharp sweet and butter with the addition of spiced rye and ethanol booze. There is diacetyl all over this shop. The palate is medium bodied with low to no carbonation and the chemical hot buttery finish. Flawed, wish I could have had the beer Don had.

Tap @ Colorado Plus. Pours a hazy reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Burnt toffee, caramel, banana, a bit sugary, somewhat spicy yeasty aroma. Burnt sugar, caramel, a touch smoky, roasty, banana, light citrusy flavor. Too many burnt notes going on.

Tap at Colorado Plus - lightly hazy orange - thick, frothy lace - nose of tangy wheat, an almost musky earthiness, citrus, doughy yeast - soft, creamy mouthfeel - equal parts sweet and bitter - a little sticky, but there is an earthysherry quality that adds some depth and balance - peppery alcohol in the finish, but in no way boozy - some resinous hops on the tail end - a fairly solid example of sweet american barleywine.
