On draught: pours somewhat hazy with white head. Aroma is citrus and ambiguous fruitiness. Taste is smooth, low bitterness. Citrus blossom.

1$ off the clearance rack for a large pounder can. A really nice black nitro style pour with a thick choco moose head. Nose is big hot chocolate with a slight hint of peppermint, if you look for it. First big swig is booze laced hot chocolate that's been left to cool for an hour. Having some difficulty picking up the peppermint in there, but certainly its there. Odd bitter chocolate in the middle, seems more like unsweetened bakers chocolate here. Getting a little difficult, like most pastry bullshit brews. In the end, this finishes as a tick, but I'd not buy again. Its just one nasty nellie cloying brew that has no resemblance to the stout style it claims to be. These pastry stouts are mostly just happy mouthcoating drivel. There, you have it. Blah.

OK, off the dollar clearance rack this can of stuff must be a little aged? But, I can't locate a date stamp on the can, so who knows. Sometimes JRs gets a case with a few damaged cans and then just dumps the remainder of the case into the $1 rack. Either way, the $1 rack is a good treasure chest of brews. This stuff pours Hazy off pale. Mild pine perfume aroma. First big swig is a mouthful of terribly on style, cloying mouth coating biting ruggedly bitter happy bullshit. Yes, a few of the regular level fog monsters didn't really have enough kick for me to say they deserved the IPA category but this stuff is dean of dead on. Hardly any carbonation, if any at all. One big bitter hoppy mess of a mesticle for yer testicles. Blah and WHEW! I'm looking forward to the effects of the alky content so that I can begin to forget about this arrogant obnoxious taste. Or, should I say noxious? They both apply here. Nasty nellie, I somehow hope to get more happy and feel less inhibited as I near the end of the can. I don't drain pour so I guess I'll just plow thru it. Yes, if you like IPA, you need to get a can of this, but i bet you won't get it for a buck! Hehehehh.

Can off the cheap buck rack at JRs. Very light berry aroma, barely any nose at all. The look is at first clear off pale then as I near the bottom of the can it does get a little hazy. First taste is bitter hops and I can't really find any berry in this. But wait, if I really concentrate, I think I may be getting some. Yes, the first uptake is simply medium strong bitter hops. In the middle of the terribly hops IPA style. Not quite as brutal as many domestic IPAs out there, but it does hold its own. Hopping to get at least a little bit of that 6.8% inhibition, which makes me feel more relaxed and less anxious. Yea baby. Also hoping for some of the relaxing nicotinic acid and lactoflavin effect, hehehehhh. Finally, near the end of the can. I'm getting some extra dopamine, which seems to travel to my brain's reward center, weeeee! Finally, not a total loss for an IPA. Even has some co2 clear to the end. There, you have it.
