Description
VZW Brouwerij De Lelie heeft zich als vereniging tot doel gesteld de oude bieren van de gelijknamige brouwerij in het centrum van Vosselaar terug onder de aandacht te brengen. In september 2008 werd PAUS voor het eerst sinds begin jaren 1950 opnieuw geschonken. De donkere PATER volgde reeds een half jaar later.

Brouwerij “De Lelie” werd in 1907 opgericht door Florimond De Jongh. In 1922 werd de brouwerij overgenomen door Jan Dresselaers. Tot 1952 volgde zoon René zijn vader op. Er werden kwaliteitsbieren van hoge gisting gebrouwen waarvan Paus en Pater de bekendste waren. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog was de tijd van het ambachtelijk brouwen voorbij en werd in 1952 de productie stopgezet.

Bottled. Hazy reddish amber colour with a mediumsized off-white creamy head. Aroma is caramel, some toasted notes, mild wood and some ripe fruits. Flavour is caramel, some toasted malts, mild toffee, raisins and a mild mellow bitterness to it.

Heller, getreidig-hefiger Antrunk. Milde Süße, mit der Zeit trockener werdend, deutliche Herbe. Konstant, monoton. Ok. 9/8/7/8/8/8

33cl bottle. A clear yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of mild banana, herbs, wheat malt. Taste of herbal wheat malt, some banana.

33cl bottle. A almost clear deep golden beer with a bige off-white head. Aroma of mild banana, phenols and belgian yeast. Taste of banana, belgian yeast, sweet wheat malt, some herbs. Moderate to high carbonation.

33cl bottle. A clear very dark reddish brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of dark brown malt, caramel, red fruits. Taste of strong dark brown malt, burned malt, caramel, hazelnuts. Good!

Bottle. Blonde, hazy. Citrus in the floral hoparoma. Firm citric floral hopbitter flavor. Soft tropical fruit. Floral hoppy finish. Alcohol. Good, firm tripel.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel, plums and brown sugar in the aroma. Sugary sweet caramelly flavor. Hint of butter. Too sweet!

Thank you Giovanni! Sampled 750 ml. bottle @ Modeste 2018. Orange, clear no head. Nose is overly sweet, banana, caramel & oddly chlorine, age? Taste is esters, soap, flowers, banana, sweet cheap booze, dash chlorine, meh.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Hazy dark golden colour, thin white head. Sweet nose of sweet malts, banana, sharp herbal bitterness.
