Description
Situated in a beautiful 1931 red brick building, Rare Bird’s mission is to provide an unsurpassed dining and drinking experience in Traverse City. From our intimate reclaimed wood booths to the cozy and cool lounge and German bier hall style seating made from massive wood slabs that Nate and Tina sustainably harvested, we have a space for everyone to feel comfortable.

Our own beers and many more flow from the taps along with a selection of wines, ciders and spirits. Our menu features simple, familiar items served with a unique and exciting flair. Our ingredients are sourced locally when possible. Keeping with the local theme, our beer ingredients includes malt and hops grown in Michigan whenever possible. All of these qualities together make Rare Bird stand out in the crowd.

On tap at Rare Bird. Pours a clear red amber with a white head. Citrus and pine hop aromas. Flavor has pine, sweet citrus grapefruit hops. Very tasty.

On tap at Rare Bird. Pours an amber gold, hazy, with a white head. Aromas of caramel, hoppy pine and grapefruit. Flavor has pine, grapefruit, floral hops, malty biscuit, with a bit of sweetness. Quite good.

On tap at Rare Bird. Pours a clear golden. Floral, citrus hop aroma. Flavor has citrus, floral hops, some toasty malt. Nice bitterness. Very nice for a session IPA.

Keg at the brewpub. Dark brown, thin creamy tan head, decent retention. Aroma of cocoa, roast, caramel. Taste is chocolate, cocoa, caramel, salt. Medium bodied. Too sweet.

Well we had NO pants parties back in the college days! Keg at the brewpub. Slightly hazy amber, Medium creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of grapefruit, floral hop, caramel. Taste is lemon, grapefruit, pale malt, mild caramel. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Keg at the brewpub. Murky yellow, large creamy white head, good retention. Aroma of lemon, resin, pine, lime, pale malt. Taste is pine, resin, grapefruit, lemon,pale malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Keg at the brewpub. Clear copper, thin fizzy offwhite head, good retention. Aroma of wheat, lemon, spice. Taste is orange, lemon, wheat, bready malt, spice, cherries. Medium bodied, mild lingering spice. Solid.
