The appearance was a decent looking hazy orange with some slight carbonation seen rising. The head was about a finger’s worth that would die fairly quickly leaving some light lacing that slid.
The smell didn’t really seem much different than their pale ale other than having some more of that vegetal quality.
The taste was bitter for the sake of being bitter. It didn’t really seem like it was an IPA to me.
On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium on the body. Sessionable, well, slightly, I guess it was.
Overall, I was probably being a little nice with their pale ale, but this one kinda misses the mark with this one. Probably wouldn’t have this one again.

This one was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy orange color with a one finger white foamy head. There is some light lacing that tries to stick to the sides but mainly slides for the most part.
The smell had some cooked vegetal substance I couldn’t quite right place.
The taste was slightly bitter for the sake of being bitter. Light English maltiness pervades into the flavor.
On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium on the body. It shows a decent sessionability.
Overall, this one is your basic pale ale that is slightly borderline to an English pale ale.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a hazy orange to yellow color with less than a half finger-ed white foamy head that quickly dies. There is some super light lacing that quickly slides into the beer.
The smell had some light coriander and citrus.
The taste was basically sweet and spicy through the previously mentioned flavors.
On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium in body. It is fairly sessionable.
Overall, this is your basic witbier that doesn’t offend nor excite.

Bottle from Tesco, Milton Keynes, consumed at home in company of Baz, Jude & Annasley on Saturday 24th May 2014 Pours dark amber with a filmy head. More toffee less hoppiness, chewy malty, not really an IPA but it does have a very American feel to it, I guess that is through the over generous use of crystal malt. Fruity but a bit too sweet, toffee coming back again. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0

355ml bottle. Orange-brown amber colour, foamy white head leaving lacing and aroma of caramel, mango & citrus. Taste is crystal malt, caramel with some citrusy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry earthy bitter finish. Quite OK.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Clear amber body with a fluffy off-white head. Steady carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of peach, caramel and earth. The flavour is musty and indistinct - faint toffee and grapefruit notes trying to get through. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. A forgettable beer. But much better than their Amber Ale.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Clear amber body with a thin white head that quickly fades. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of wet cardboard, honey and wood. Flavour is basically a corny Lager but with more musty sweetness. Sour metallic finish. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. A very dull beer - tastes like a poor homebrew. I couldn’t finish it.

Bottle from Tesco. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is rich resin hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a huge resin floral hop palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. I think they threw the hop bucket into this one, but unfortunately it contained all the wrong hops :-(

355ml bottle from Tesco’s, Camberley. Golden amber with a loose white head anf light carbonation; citrusy aroma; soft toffee taste with some sweet grapefruit to follow; and a caramel biscuity finish with some zingy spice. I’ve tried quite a few east coast IPA’s in the past few weeks, and this one is definitely better than average.
