500ml bottle. Deep, dark brown with a moderate tan head. Sweet coffee and dark chocolate aroma, flavour is similarly sweet with plenty of malt, chocolate and coffee. Lovely creamy mouth feel

Draught aught at Drewdrop. Clean gold with a full head. Aroma of grainy malt. Flavour is light bitter grainy malt, and spice, bang for a Helles

500ml bottle; BB 13th July 18. Poured (twice) into a Gordon's Thistle shaped glass at home on 13th Feb 18. Black body, full tanned blanket on top, looked lovely on both pours, the glass obviously helping with the visuals. Malty and milky, smooth and pretty rich body wise, some milky sweetness and not so 'toasted/roasted' in flavour as a normal Guinness. Liked it.

Bottle. Nose is toffee, malt, charcoal. Taste is sweet malt, hint of charcoal, toffee, dark fruit, sticky slightly sickly.

Bottle from Tesco. Pours black with a thick tan head. Very little on the nose. Faint toffee maybe. Taste is light chocolate, light roast. Faintly sweet. Pretty bland to be honest.

Bottle. Black with a nice beige head. Aroma of cocoa, chocolate and hints of coffee. Taste is milk chocolate, cocoa, some coffee, roasted malts and a little bit of hops. Very balanced and rather dry than sweet. Low to medium carbonation. Silky and creamy. Yummy.

330 ml bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/12/2016. Pours clear nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a small dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, and dark bread; with light notes of nuttiness, molasses, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, and dark bread; with light notes of nuttiness, molasses, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, dark bread, light nuttiness/smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying/acrid roast flavors after the finish. Slightly drying from hop/roast bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a delicious milk stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter finish. Very rich and flavorful for the ABV. Great well rounded malt complexity, just enough hops to balance sweetness; and nice complementing yeast character, without being overdone. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on English style example.
