Keg at the brewery. It pours pretty much black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, toasty, earth, cacao nibs, powdered chocolate, light spice and treacle. The taste is smooth, bitter, chocolate, toasted brown sugar, toffee, treacle, rocky road, spice, some alcohol warmth, charred wood, pepper, earth with a dry, warming finish. Full boys and moderate carbonation. Pretty good, if a touch sweet. The bourbon BA version which I had right next definitely wins.

Keg at the brewery. It pours hazy golden - amber with a small, foamy white head. The aroma is fresh, grassy, green, spring onion, celery, straw, cucumber, lightly herbal and bread. The taste is crisp, dry, grassy bitterness, straw, floral, white bread, perfumed, white sugar, sherbet and varnish with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Not quite sold on this one... Fun, but Iโm not sure on the green onion vibe.

Keg at the Brewery. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, toasty grain, soft peachy fruits, nectarine, caramel, toffee, bread and a bit of pine. The taste is dry, bitter, grassy, pine, toasted grain, light spice, light spice, straw and cereal with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. More maltybthan I was expecting, but easy drinking.

Keg at the brewery. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, spicy, ginger, cereal, toasted grain, candy, toffee and a touch of bubblegum. The taste is dry, bitter, toasted grain, grassy, brown bread, dull caramel, cereal and light spice with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. I wouldnโt call this a typical example of the style, but itโs a decent enough whatever it is.

Keg at the brewery. It pours clear yellow with a decent white head. The aroma is fresh, white bread, soft sweetness, straw, cracker and some nougat. The taste is crisp, clean, white bread, straw, cracker, mellow sweetness with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Very refreshing. This makes a lot of sense in this oppressive Texan humidity.

Keg at Drink of Ages as karbach FUN series 014 barrel aged saison(probably a typo). Pretty sure this is the same thing. It pours clear amber with minimal head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, gingerbread, grape skin, fruit cake, cereal and something almost menthol on the back-end. The taste is crisp, light bitterness, cereal, toasted grain, quite sweet, sticky, vinous, peppery spice, but of alcohol elderflower and gooseberry with a dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. A bit sweet and sticky. Sounds good, but doesnโt quite deliver.

Keg at Drink of Ages. It pours clear amber with a thick white head. The aroma is sweet, brown bread with, candied fruits, stone fruits, Buffy, fruit pie, candy and tart tatin. The taste is pretty sweet upfront.... toasted grain, sticky, caramel, sweet fruity vibe, stone fruits, citrus peel, berry, peppery spice and floral notes with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Not exactly bursting with hops. A bit sweet and dull.

Cask at Firkin Fest. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, cinnamon, spice, cocoa, toasted malt. Thick mouth, chewy, roast, spice, boozy, very nice.

Pours a very dark amber, more of a brown really. Aroma is malt-focused, sweet syrup and caramel. Nice hop profile, sort of a generic bitterness too. Good beer.
