Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is fairly bourbon forward with some moderate oak notes. Light vanilla with some medium light roast notes. Medium light notes of toasted bread and light almond and chocolate notes. Pours a dark brown to black with a medium sized, fairly thick, mocha head that steadily recedes. Medium lacing and moderate length legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with some moderate roast and chocolate notes. Light vanilla character with moderateky strong bourbon and oak notes. Medium bitterness with some alcohol spice. Bourbon and oak are fairly strong. Hints of almond and toasted bread. Some lingering roast, bourbon and oak. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low, but present astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer, but I think the bourbon and oak character may be a bit too strong and drowns out some of the base beer and vanilla. As it warms the vanilla really comes out though and the oak fades. I would definitely let this one warm up.
