Cask at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with medium frothy tan head that lasts leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is strong roast, coffee creamer, and chocolate. Medium mouth feel with sweet chocolate, light vanilla, roast finish, nice sweetness, very impressive.

Some light hops and OK overall balance. Just not a lot going on here. Not bad, just boring. Some light citrus. Malt is a little weird here. Tap at Houston airport.

Draft. Clear reddish amber color, off white head. Aroma has port wine, tannins, light fruit. Taste starts with sweet malt, dark fruit, pine. Exceeded my expectations.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Theydon Bois. Bright clear gold beer, big cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Airy malts bring mild creamy sweetness. Good marmalade hops backed by light lime and lemon. Mild pine and a touch of tropical fruits. Hops spice before a light semi dry finish. A fine beer.

Sample at Beerfoot. Reddish-brown color with a medium foamy light beige head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Light to medium body with flavors of bready malt, chocolate and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
