12oz can. Brown-black-ruby red body. Steady beige head. Pretty balanced, enjoyable for the style. Roasty, but also has a pleasantly sweet lacto balance. A little more delicate than most examples, which I appreciate. Pretty good.

Bottle (2/14/19?) pour from BevMax, Hamden. Appearance is very, very dark (almost opaque) brown with nice sparkle, finger-width khaki head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong bourbon and caramel with hints of brown sugar and dark fruit. Taste is strong bourbon, caramel, hint of chocolate and dark fruit. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, soft carbonation, nice alcohol warmth and finish as taste. Overall, dominated by strong, but not overwhelming, bourbon but caramel comes through. I wish the chocolate and dark fruit came through a bit stronger.

Wow, what a treat! Old school Guinness buffed with shades of Bulleit and alcohol. Very smooth, tasty and drinkable.

473ml can. Pours a clear gold-yellow with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that laces. Faint aroma of toasted caramel malt. Sweet flavour of toasted bready malt, orange peel and yeast in a crisp, dry, mild bitter, grassy hop finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Clean and easy to drink.

Not bad, offering up a gentle blend of chocolate, dark fruit, coffee, and caramel, with a roasty backbone and modest lactose sweetness on the back end. Finishes with a flourish of vanilla, cherry, cocoa, and char. Grows a little too sugary as it warms, but still makes for a decent pint.

Blue can as pictured. Deep dark brown with a tan head. Not much aroma but the taste is full of chocolate and malt. Some sweetness on the chocolate. Hides alky well, quite smooth. Easy, decent milk stout. Yes, not bad. Ever so slight burnt old damp campfire wood lurking back there on the palate. Decent carbonation. Good, easy to enjoy, mild dark brew.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige/tan had. Aroma of bourbon fighting with quite roasty malt. It's almost like candy. In a good way. Full body or nearly. Flavor is very roasty malt, turbinado sugar, bourbon. Not quite getting wood; I think the bourbon obscures it. Clearly high quality bourbon. Just excellent.

On draft at Dominion Wine and Beer. Pours a cola brown with an ecru head. Strong barrel flavors but not boozy.
