Clear, bright pink coloured body with a very soapy, pure white head that shows a hint of pink as well with very large bubbles that fade very quickly and leave a very ugly lace on the sides. Aroma of perfume, light grass, a dose of tart fruits and a bit of light bitterness from some fruits. Light-bodied; Sharp tart and floral flavours at first with a funky slightly soured note from the hibiscus and only a touch of hops noticeable with a very light bitterness, all ending with a funky mild malt that almost tastes like wheat. Aftertaste is subdued and more floral and grassy with the tart hibiscus, and hardly any of the hop/IPA flavours at all, with only a dash of dry and grassy hops without any alpha acids at all. Overall, a pretty underwhelming beer throughout, although the hibiscus is nice, especially in Nebraska, but in this style or with this preperation - probably not the best. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Hy-Vee in Lincoln, Nebraska on 20-January-2020 for US$1,67 sampled a few hours later in my hotel room here in Lincoln, Nebraska on 20-January-2020.

Draft/Fest. A- Straw. A- Gold color, hazy liquid, off white head. T- Straw. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- So little flavor and aroma with this, it was hard to even remind myself it was beer. Cosmic brewer was a former brewery for Nebraska so apparently they are on good terms now. Name must be in conjunction with the eyesight charity NE works with. Honestly can't think of much good to say about this, there is nothing to it.

Draft/Fest. A- Pine. A- Gold color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Pine, malty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- The rye is very minimal and come across as a generic pale ale. Considering the head brewers background, I just expect a lot more than this from them.

Can. A- Roasty, leather, tobacco. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Roasty, ash, char, bitter, chocolate. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Hardly an imperial stout at 8% and definitely brewed in a traditional style. They mention that there is definitely not a single adjunct in here and that couldn't be more true. Not sure I agree with the can telling me to drink it cold and fresh, well, at least the cold part. Pretty good all around but too bitter on the finish.

Draft. A- Pine, black pepper, mild citrus. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Black pepper, pine. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Tolerable but not my style. By all means though, if you like Black IPA's this one would probably suite you alright.

Aromas of pine, subtle citrus and roasted malt. Sweet roasted malt mixed with mild citrus and lingering pine. Good.

I understand the lemonade (lemon juice) aspect. I couldn’t find any tea or tea leaves any place. Kind of like a standard kettle sour.

I give credit to the brewer on keeping a near dead style alive. A German style that was nearly extinct and I’ve only seen it one other time. (In New Hampshire) Subtle Banana, slight spice, punchy German yeast. Mild pepper. Enjoyable

The rye element is downplayed by light fruit and mild pine. Bitterness is low and leans to earthy pine. Pretty balanced overall.
